Information about the electric bikes:

Model Buddy Bike X1

Buddy X1 is a Norwegian-developed premium electric bike designed by Eker Design. The X1 frame is the world's first injection-molded carbon composite frame with a motor adapter that enables the use of multiple drive systems. It is made from recycled carbon composite and can be recycled. An introduced deposit scheme of NOK. 1.500,- ensures recycling of the frame.

Buddy X1 has a powerful motor from German Sachs (112 Nm) and a 48V battery from BMZ (650Wh). Belt drive and a closed gear system reduce the need for maintenance. It is therefore well suited to year-round cycling.

Recommended routes

In Fjærland, the roads are mostly fairly flat, but there is a slight incline in some tributary valleys. With electric bikes from Buddy Bikes, it's no problem to get around easily.

From the pick-up points at Fjærland Fjordstove Hotell or Norwegian Glacier Museum it is easy to cycle (see map below):

  1. Southwest along the fjord all the way to Jordal.

  2. Head north to Supphellebreen (via Skeide or Våteviki). To get to Supphellebreen, cross Road 5 near Norwegian Glacier Museum and cycle through Våteviki, or cross Road 5 at Skeide over the bridge towards Supphelledalen.

  3. You can also cycle up the side valleys Mundalsdalen from Mundal or Horpedalen from Våteviki.

IMPORTANT: AVOID Road 5 northwards in Bøyadalen! This road is heavily trafficked with an 80 km/h zone where cars and larger vehicles travel at high speeds.

Feel free to use Google Maps or another map solution you prefer to plot your destination.

Enjoy your electric bike ride :)
