Roar for climate and glaciers

In May, you can roar in the name of our elected representatives at the Norwegian Glacier Museum in Fjærland.

Klimabrølet is in the process of creating the longest celebration for climate and nature in Norwegian history. Throughout May, you can experience and contribute to the roar with us. The artwork Brølofonen is on display here.

Magnar and Delphine, who work at Norwegian Glacier Museum , are passionate about the climate - and glaciers.

Fjærland and the areas close to the Jostedalsbreen glacier have long been known for the steep glaciers that rumble, crash and roar, while the ice is in constant motion. In modern times, the roar of the glaciers has fallen silent, they are shrinking and making less noise. We want to focus on this! With a roar for the climate, we may be able to help the glaciers return to their glorious days. Come and roar at Norwegian Glacier Museum !

The climate noise

It will be roared coherently for four years - throughout an entire parliamentary term - to gather and visualize a broad popular commitment to the climate and nature cause. Right now you can experience the roar here in Fjærland, as part of the Norwegian tour.

"Those of us who roar don't necessarily have the same answers about what should be prioritized in the climate and nature struggle. But by raising our voices together, we put the issue at the top of the agenda. By roaring, we cheer on brave politicians and businesses that are working to turn the ship around. By voting in the roar, we create community and give each other the courage to make lifestyle changes," says Lene Bonesmo Solberg, chair of the board of Foreningen Klimabrølet.

"It's quite demanding to roar continuously for four years. That's why we built the Roarphone. In this interactive work of art, with music contributed by Røyksopp and others, you can both experience the effect of roaring on your body and contribute to unity and power in the climate fight. Record your own roar - whether it's a cheer, a thunderous speech or a roar expressed through sign language. The sum of motivations and expressions shows the breadth of the popular commitment to the most important issue of our time."

We at Norwegian Glacier Museum are proud to help carry the roar through the country. It is important that we keep the climate debate hot. If you can't make the trip, we encourage you to upload your roar to Klimabrølet. Your roar will then be played through the Roar Horn and become part of the longest roar of all time, for the most important cause of our time.
