Educational playground

The educational playground is suitable for children and young people. Here they can learn about the Ice Age animal "the woolly mammoth", what sea level rise is and how a moraine is formed. The play ground is interactive and has explanatory texts. Feel free to ask mom or dad, or another adult.
The mammoth family consists of "a mother and two small children" who are nicely placed by the pond in front of the museum. The animals are in realistic scale and you can take pictures of yourself with them!
The exhibition on sea level rise is a miniature of the landscape in Fjærland around the Norwegian Glacier Museum, where the museum is located between steep mountains on the delta by the fjord. How can global warming affect glaciers and water, causing the sea to rise? We also have special information about sea level and ice melting in a "self-guided" experiment inside the museum!
The moraine exhibition contains real moraine soil and three glaciers that can be pushed between the mountains. When the glacier moves, it plows up a moraine. Hidden in the moraine sand you can find exciting fossils of prehistoric animals!
